Sara Barker writes stories about redemption, faith, and the quiet ways God restores broken places. Her work is inspired by real experiences and the belief that even the most tangled threads of life can be woven into something beautiful.
Growing up in the wide open landscapes of the Southwest, Sara learned early that life does not always unfold the way we expect. The stories she writes explore how trauma, family, and faith shape the paths we walk — and how grace can redeem even the most broken beginnings.
In addition to novels, Sara also writes cowboy poetry and children’s stories, drawing inspiration from ranch life, family, and the rhythms of the western landscape.
Her debut novel, A Place of Refuge, follows a young girl navigating a childhood marked by instability while searching for the quiet places where safety and hope still exist.
When she isn’t writing, Sara enjoys ranch life with her husband Chris, long country drives, and reading far more books than she has shelf space for.
